Love the music of Frank Zappa and Steely Dan?
We’re excited to present the music of Frank Zappa and Steely Dan in the opening shows of our Jazz Concert Series on Thursday, July 21 at Chief Sepass Theatre.
✨Zappastrophe’ – explores the demanding music of the iconoclastic composer Frank Zappa. Composed of music department faculty from Douglas College and professionals in the community, this ambitious project has been two years in the making. Choosing selections from different eras of Frank’s career, the music is played with excitement, precision, and humour.
✨Steelin’ in the Years – Steelin’ In The Years began as the “labour of love” project of the WestCoast’s top musicians united by their shared passion for the music of Steely Dan. A decade on, the band has exploded into a crowd-pleasing ten-piece powerhouse that regularly dazzles sold-out crowds with everything from the Dan’s greatest hits to deep cuts and B-sides The band features songs from nearly all the Steely Dan albums and has been described as, “an extraordinary show which never fails to electrify and delight audiences.”
